The good news of Jesus Christ changed my life. Sadly, though, it seems as if the Church is no longer a place of good news. I say this for five reasons. Naïve fantasy or prophetic genius? You decide whether my plan to grow the Church might work.

The first essential feature of the world as God intended it: that each part of the creation should function properly according to its kind.

What exactly are God’s intentions for the world? The danger is that we simply think about what kind of world we would like and ascribe our desires to God. Instead, I shall take as my starting point the Genesis accounts of creation.

Is the Christian “good news” about salvation from guilt, shame or fear? I think it’s actually about a divine plan that is far bigger and more exciting than any of these things.

The Christian Church must change its Gospel message. This seemingly is the radical conclusion I’ve come to after serving as a priest for over twenty years.
