Usually a bishop or archdeacon is invited to preach at the monthly diocesan office staff Eucharist. This time, nobody was available, so I filled in. Here is what I said.
“There’s more than meets the eye.”
So the saying goes. What looks like the local carpenter, turning up one Sabbath at the Synagogue in Nazareth, turns out be the beginning of a ministry that will change the world.
We are called to be witnesses. Our task is to pass on the faith. But that can sound daunting. To make things easier, think about what we mean be “belief”.
Jesus said: “Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”
How might the science of the brain help us to understand these words?
There are two kinds of time: the moments that tick by and the God-given moments of opportunity.
